Throughout the project staff and children worked on various tasks designed to help us understand the project aims and promote the idea of restorative practices in our own schools and with our classes. On their return from each exchange, pupils reflected on the idea of resolving conflict and learning lessons from the past and expressed their ideas through art and poetry work, as seen on this page. Some children also put together a short story book showing the impact of bullying.
The project has also had a wider impact on the whole school. The training that staff undertook around restorative practices has been brought back to school and all staff at St Peter’s are now learning how to implement these ideas in our classrooms and around our school community. Over the coming year we hope to be able to really embed these ideas at St Peter’s and help to create a more inclusive, happy and tolerant environment for the whole community.
